Summary

What is a Czech Puppy?

The Czech Puppy Contest, formerly the Mr. Puppy of the Czech Republic, is a community election of a representative of the canine community, who then holds the title of Czech Puppy for the following year. The holder of the title usually represents the Czech dog community, inspires it, organizes events or projects, but the specific activities depend on the holder and may determine the choice. For more information, see the Title tab.

When does the election take place?

The election is usually held on the penultimate Saturday in November. There are other engaging events throughout the weekend. See the Election tab for more details.

Preparation for the events begins much earlier, however. The date is usually announced by the end of the previous year. The team then starts preparing everything over the summer so that candidate applications can open in September and ticket sales can begin in mid-September.

How does it actually work?

Candidates present in several public rounds and one non-public round. The winner is then decided jointly by the jury and the audience present. See the rules tab for more details.
